Castaway Lake 1

Castaway Lake 1 is approx. 5 acres in size and is fed by a small stream, and has reed beds and a high quantity of lily pads.  The lake is believed to be over 1000 years old and is shown on all good maps.

There are two double swims and one single swim, set in amongst the trees and as we only have 5 anglers at a time each angler has plenty of lake to themselves.

There is plenty of wildlife around the lake, and you may occasionally see a deer or two along with buzzards and kingfishers.

The lake is stocked with a good head of commons, mirrors and grass carp to 50lb and catfish in excess of 80lb.

To give you even more variety and 'exotic' photos to show your friends, we also have Silver carp the largest weighing 60lbs.

We have been lucky enough to purchase 10 carp between 36lb to 44lb which we have added to the stock already in Castaway Lake 1.

Facilities

Ready and waiting for when you arrive.

• A high quality 2 man bivvy per person erected at your swim.
• Supplied in the bivvy you will find a 3 legged bed chair, fishing chair, large bivvy table, plus a camping stove suplied with gas.
• All cooking utensils are also provided, plates, cutlery, kettle, saucepan and all your basic needs to be able to cook that good old English breakfast.
• There is also a 6 berth Willerby mobile home which is available for the use of all anglers.  This supplies you with toilet, separate shower room, fridge, cooker and mains electric and mains water.
• Please note that we do not supply sleeping bags. Or any bed linen or towels etc. in the mobile home, so you will need to provide these for yourself.

Location

Castaway Lake 1 is located on the outskirts of the tranquil village of Ajain, which is situated in the La Creuse region of France just off the N145, which makes access to our lake very straightforward.  The village of Ajain is within walking distance from the lake. The main town of Gueret is approx 10 minutes by car and there you will find everything from supermarkets, bars, banks, restaurants and shops.
