Hi Everyone,
Just a quick update as to what has been happening here at Castaway Lake 1 and 2 now that another season has finished.
Lake 1
The lake started fishing really well at the start of the season, but with the weather much the same as in England starting off very cold and wet, then getting hot and topping 40 degrees, this seemed to put the fish off their food to some extent during the day but was still fishing well of a night, but towards the later end of the season things got back to normal.
We still had a very good head of fish on the bank, and the lake records now stand as follows:
Mirror Carp 45lb 9oz. Leather carp 36lbs Grass carp 36lb 8oz.
Common carp 37lb 2oz and the biggest catfish weighed in at 65lb 10oz.
You can see some of the photo's of fish caught during the season on our Gallery page.
We have had another stocking of carp into lake 1 of mirrors and commons and hopefully we shall see many of these on the bank in out 2007 season.
Lake 2
Again the weather caused a few problems, but for the first year of opening we feel that this lake fished really well, and we had a lot of positive feedback from the anglers who came especially about the beautiful setting, and the peace and quite.
We had several of the original fish of the lake show themselves which was good, but lots from our own stocking, and glad to say that all the fish caught were in excellent condition which shows that they have settled well into their new environment .
The lake records for Lake 2 stand at:
Mirror Carp 46lb with a few just over the 40lbs. Common carp 36lb 5oz. Catfish 55lbs.
The larger catfish proved to powerful for many anglers and unfortunately were lost before getting to the bank.
We have had another stocking of fish put into Lake 2 and photo's of these can be seen on the gallery page, (50 carp ranging from 18lbs to 30lbs and 50 catfish between 20lbs and 85lbs. ) so the lake really does have an extremely good head of carp and cats and we hope that next season will prove this.

A word about bait.
We have decided for 2007 season to ban the use of certain baits going into the lakes, i.e Hemp, Maize, Bird Seed, Peanuts/Tigernuts and all small particals.
If you don't want to have to bring lots of bait with you, there is a list of baits we are supplying for our 2007 season on our prices/facilities pages and this includes our SPECIAL BAIT DEAL. All baits can be pre ordered so they are ready for when you arrive. Just email your requirements to us.
.....................................................................
Well that's about it for now. It has been a pleasure having anglers return to Lake 1 again and lovely to see new faces on both Lake 1 and Lake 2, and .making so many new friends on both lakes.
We look forward to seeing you all who have booked to return next year and welcome any new anglers to our lakes.
Bookings are now going fast, so don't miss out, why not request a brochure and booking form today.
Regards
Peter & Janet Baker
