Newsletter
Hello and welcome everybody to the Castaway Lake newsletter update.
We have some exciting news. As you have seen from our home page, we have our 3 rd lake opening for the 2008 season, OUR NEW CATFISH ONLY LAKE…
The Castaway lake experience is a lot more than just a fishing holiday, we provide clean and well looked after facilities along with excellent carp and cat fishing, what more could you want?
Our Carp and cat fishing holidays are designed to bring you fishing as it should be, with a few home comforts to go with it. And because of this and the success of our lakes 1 and 2, we are now opening lake number 3.
We have some monster catfish in this lake, and here is just a taster of the ones which we had delivered this week. The largest one of these weighed in at 153lbs and the other at 150lbs
We have also had Mandarin catfish delivered, just imagine having a photo taken holding one of these adorable creatures. (See our gallery page for more photos of our catfish).

We shall be draining the lake 3 at the end of the year, as at the moment we also have carp in this lake, so we shall be taking them all out and all the small fish, just leaving the catfish, and then we shall be adding the rest of the stock, so when your alarm goes on your rod, you know that you defiantly have a catfish on the end of it.
Now a word about lakes 1 and 2. Both are fishing well and the largest carp out at the moment is 48lb 6oz and the largest catfish 60lb.
We have decided to drain Lake 1 in October, (well I say drain, we have actually got to pump the water out because of the age of the lake, so we really are going to be busy). We shall take out all the small carp and catfish, which have bred in abundance, which proves that it is a healthy lake. This way we can put back only the bigger carp and cats, and it will also give us an opportunity of seeing how much weight the Silver Carp have put on over the last couple of years, as since we put them in the lake they have not shown themselves. Maybe they are just shy.
I shall be putting a few photos on the site during the course of the draining and some of the fish which are returned to the lake.
Well that's about it for now, just to remind you that we are now taking bookings for 2008/9 seasons, so if you would like to visit one of our 3 lakes, please contact us asap to save disappointment or to request a brochure.
We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for taking the time to look at our site.
Regards
Peter & Janet Baker
