Playing and Learning (2½ - 5 years)

Within our pre-school room the staff plan a variety of suitable activities to ensure that the curriculum is fully covered. Our staff are trained to recognise and respect the individual needs of young children, they work alongside our qualified primary teacher who monitors the delivery of the Early Learning Goals.

We believe that young children learn best from first hand experience and all activities are planned to extend your child's knowledge and understanding of today's world. A strong emphasis is placed on the development of literacy and numeracy skills throughout all areas of play and learning.

With our child-centred approach all activities are pre-planned to meet the needs of individual children. Our wide range of resources are carefully selected to enable you child to play purposefully and learn new skills. Your child will have access to computers from the age of three years and our weekly programme includes swimming, dance, french, music and horse riding.

We believe that happy children are confident learners and the development of their social and emotional skills, learning to share, and learning to care for others, are an important part of the nursery's ethos.
